Admin Notifies Relief Centres, Nodal Officers for Srinagar Amid Flood Preparedness Precautions

Evacuation areas identified across nine localities; 15 community centres designated for relief, officers deputed with contact numbers

Srinagar, Sep 3 (JKNS): In view of the prevailing weather situation and rising water levels, the Srinagar administration on Wednesday issued a detailed notification regarding the establishment of relief centres and deputation of nodal officers for evacuation and rescue measures.

According to the order issued by DM Srinagar as per news agency JKNS, 15 locations including community centres at Ellahibagh Buchpora, Lalnagar Channapora, Babdam, Daulatabad Khanyar, Raddapora Khanyar, Bagwanpora Barbarshah, Jami Majid Nowhata, GHSS Zewan, Municipal Committee Hall Zewan, Government Boys Higher Secondary Palpora, Hussaini Public High School Zanikoot, GMS Maloora, and Panchayat Ghars at Khonmoh have been designated as relief centres. Each centre has been provided with ward officers, patwaris, sanitary officials, PHE, power, and medical staff for round-the-clock service.

The notification further lists nine evacuation-prone areas — Peerzoo Island, Kursoo Rajbagh, Padshahi Bagh, Lasjan, Soiteng, Gandbal, Pamposh Colony Palpora, Maloora, and Parimpora — where relief and evacuation measures are being monitored. Nodal officers including BDO Khonmoh, Assistant Labour Commissioner Srinagar, Functional Managers DIC, and Assistant Registrar Cooperative have been assigned charge of these areas along with their contact numbers for public assistance.

Officials said the administration has also ensured deployment of personnel from KPDCL, Food & Civil Supplies, R&B, PHE, and health departments at each relief centre. The order stressed close coordination among agencies to facilitate evacuation and ensure uninterrupted supply of essentials in case of any emergency.

In Srinagar, the administration has designated 15 relief centres with deputed officers and contact numbers for public assistance. At Community Centre Ellahibagh, Buchpora, Functional Manager DIC Shri Mansoor Ahmad can be contacted at 7051712742, while at Community Centre Lalnagar, Channapora, District Agriculture Officer Shri Syed Gulzar Ahmad Shah is available at 8491847470.

For Khonmoh area, BDO Shri Muksit Ahmad Wani (Relief Centre Officer) can be reached at 9622270509, Assistant Labour Commissioner Srinagar Shri Adnan Khawaja at 7889429040, Functional Manager DIC Shri Zeeshan Elyas at 6005712203, and Assistant Registrar Cooperative Srinagar Shri Syed Zaid Bin Shamas at 6006900762.

Additional nodal officials include Shri Rohan Ashraf and other designated officers across centres at Babdam, Daulatabad Khanyar, Raddapora Khanyar, Bagwanpora Barbarshah, Jami Majid Nowhata, GHSS Zewan, Municipal Committee Hall Zewan, Government Boys Higher Secondary Palpora, Hussaini Public High School Zanikoot, GMS Maloora, and Panchayat Ghars at Khonmoh. For public health services, ZMOs including Dr. Rubeena Aziz (7006770113), Dr. Arshid Qadri (7006761994), and Dr. Sameena Jan (9906721302) have been deputed to different relief centres.

The order also includes emergency officers from PHE, PDD, Food & Civil Supplies, and Revenue departments with their active contact numbers to coordinate relief and evacuation.(JKNS)
