Khiram Sep 4 (JKNS): Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today inaugurated the Plate Girder Foot Bridge & Ladies Sabaat at Aasari Sharief Khiram in South Kashmir.

She was accompanied by Executive Magistrate of Waqf Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin and the Executive Engineer of the Board Qazi Mushtaq.

Work on both projects started a few months ago and was completed within the planned time frame. Dr Andrabi got a rousing reception by the local population on her arrival at the Aasari Sharif.

Later speaking to the gathering, Waqf Chairperson said that after taking over this shrine by the Board a couple of years ago, a huge transformation has occurred here and many development projects have been dedicated to the people within this short period.

“Overcoming multiple challenges, including the hindrances from fringes, Waqf Board undertook more than half a dozen very important projects and completed them within a few months here at this holy revered shrine.

Today’s works are also very significant and we are happy to dedicate these works to the public during Milad celebrations”, said Dr Darakhshan.

Local public representatives hailed Andrabi’s commitment of upgrading and transforming the spiritual centres in J&K.

“We are committed to work without a break. We don’t sell slogans. We don’t mislead by exploit people on hollow promises. We mean business,” she said.

“We have been mandated constitutionally to serve the places of our spiritual importance and we are on the path of fulfilling the trust entrusted on us by the Constitution”, said Dr Andrabi. (JKNS)
