Srinagar, Sep 6 (JKNS): Union Minister and MoS in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that major road restoration works are progressing rapidly in Kishtwar and Udhampur districts despite adverse weather conditions.
In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, Dr. Singh informed, “Kishtwar Update, Roads NH-244 from Thathri to Kishtwar is open bypassing the slide area. From Kishtwar–Chatroo–Sinthan Top will be opened today as blasting was done yesterday to remove heavy rocks and boulders that blocked the road.”
Providing an update about Udhampur, he said that road restoration is moving fast. “Out of 400 damaged roads, over 50 percent are already restored, and many more will reopen soon. Work on the National Highway is going on war footing despite constant rain and adverse conditions, and it is expected to be operational in one or two days, depending on the weather,” he posted.
Dr. Singh added that connectivity to peripheral areas like Gordi, Latti, Dudu, and Basantgarh is being restored, while water supply in some areas of Ramnagar, Moungri, Latti, and Basantgarh is yet to be fully restored. “Alternative arrangements are being made through water tankers,” he said. (JKNS)
