Srinagar, Sep 13 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday paid rich tributes to Deputy Superintendent of Police Humayun Muzammil Bhat on his martyrdom anniversary, recalling his supreme sacrifice at Anantnag on 13th September 2023.
In a post on X, Kashmir Zone Police, as per news agency JKNS, wrote, “All ranks of J&K Police solemnly commemorate the supreme sacrifice of DySP Humayun Muzammil Bhat, who laid down his life in the line of duty.”
The statement noted that DySP Bhat was a dedicated officer who demonstrated “unwavering commitment and exceptional courage” by leading from the front in the face of grave danger. For his bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra, India’s second-highest peacetime gallantry honour.
“While his loss is deeply felt across the force, his legacy endures inspiring our service, guiding our duty, and upholding the values of honour and sacrifice,” the post added.
In 2023, on 13 September, Deputy Superintendent of Police Humayun Muzammil Bhat attained martyrdom during an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag district. (JKNS)
