Srinagar, Sep 15 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday inaugurated the Joint Parcel Product–Rapid Cargo Service (JPP-RCS) train from Budgam Railway Station to New Delhi, opening a new corridor for swift transportation of perishable goods.
Speaking to media persons as per news agency JKNS, LG expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Indian Railways for the initiative.
He said the service will facilitate the movement of 23–24 tonnes of apples and other perishables directly to Delhi, helping producers cut costs and reach markets faster.
Sinha added that the service would not only provide relief to farmers and traders but also contribute significantly to the economic growth of Jammu and Kashmir, while enhancing connectivity with the rest of the country. (JKNS)
