Srinagar, Sep 16 (JKNS): The twelfth edition of the annual technology festival, Encash Mahindra TechKnow 2025, concluded successfully at Delhi Public School Srinagar today.

Organized by CyberCrew, the school’s technology club, the two-day gala has, for over a decade, stood as a testament to the school’s sustained commitment to technological education and innovation.

This year, more than 330 participants from over 30 schools across the Valley took part in a diverse set of hands-on workshops.

The sessions spanned foundational domains such as Artificial Intelligence, App Development, Robotics, Web Development, Programming, Video Editing, Graphic Design, Game Development, and Digital Marketing.

Each workshop combined detailed presentations with practical demonstrations, reinforced through quizzes and do-it-yourself exercises, ensuring both conceptual clarity and applied learning.

The festival culminated in a grand closing ceremony, graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as Chief Guest, alongside Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganaie.

A highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of a humanoid robot, Shafat, developed in the ATAL Robotics Lab of DPS Srinagar under the mentorship of Mr. Shafat Majeed Lone.

The humanoid delivered an opening address on stage, reflecting on the enduring importance of human thought, creativity, and imagination in the age of machines.

During his visit, the Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also toured the newly constructed Indoor Stadium and the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) wing of DPS Srinagar.

He took a first-hand look at the workshops being conducted across various domains, interacting with participants and instructors. Following the tour, he gave an interview to Radio DPS, the school’s student-run radio club, where he shared his reflections on the festival and the role of technology in education.

The ceremony further featured the felicitation of participating schools by the Chief Minister, followed by recognition of CyberCrew for their dedication and tireless efforts in organizing the event.

The Principal and the Chairman thanked the participating schools and their escort teachers for their enthusiastic involvement, and also appreciated the school management and organizing team for their efforts.

In her speech, the Principal said, “This not only fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership, but also builds essential skills of teamwork, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. Most importantly, it instills in them the confidence that they can imagine an idea and turn it into reality.”

In her address, the Chairman remarked, “TechKnow is more than a festival; it is a platform where students learn, lead, and inspire each other.

This edition reflects our vision of peer-to-peer learning and the Valley’s growing spirit of innovation.” She further noted to the Chief Minister, “Private schools should extend support to at least three government schools in their vicinity to ensure real upliftment and inclusivity.”

In his address, the Chief Minister applauded the wide participation of schools from across the Valley, praised the innovation on display, and reflected on the importance of artificial intelligence ethics in shaping the future of governance. He also commended DPS Srinagar for opening its doors to government schools and contributing meaningfully to the wider educational community.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, “DPS Srinagar has reached out to schools across the Valley, including government schools, making TechKnow a truly inclusive platform. By opening its doors, the school is contributing not just to its students, but to the wider community.”
