Srinagar, Sep 16 (JKNS): Peoples Democratic Party leader Iltija Mufti on Tuesday met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar to discuss the losses faced by Kashmir’s apple industry due to the prolonged closure of the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway.
As per news agency JKNS, Iltija said the highway blockade has crippled the fruit trade, with loaded trucks stranded and produce at risk of rotting. She stressed the need for immediate intervention to safeguard growers’ livelihoods.
In a post on X, she wrote, “Called on Hon’ble LG Manoj Sinha ji @manojsinha_ to apprise him of the severe crisis crippling J&K’s apple industry owing to the shutdown of the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway. He kindly assured to expedite smooth movement of trucks on the National Highway to avoid further losses.” (JKNS)
