Tangdar, Sept 17 (JKNS): The nationwide Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, a flagship health and wellness campaign, was formally launched at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Tangdar on Tuesday. The programme was inaugurated by SDM Karnah, Zaffar Ahmad Lone, in the presence of BMO Karnah, Dr. Khawaja Arif, along with several dignitaries and medical professionals.

As part of the Abhiyaan, a Mega Health Camp was organized at SDH Tangdar with a special focus on women’s health and family well-being. Specialist doctors including a psychiatrist, a general physician, a child specialist, and a gynecologist attended to the beneficiaries. A team of AYUSH doctors from the Department of Ayush also screened patients and distributed free AYUSH medicines. The camp further addressed lifestyle disorders through counseling and both preventive and curative healthcare services.

The camp offered a wide range of free diagnostics and medicines, including USG, ECG, CBC tests, blood sugar checks, and blood pressure monitoring. Over the last 17 days, a total of 559 USG tests have been conducted, of which 281 were provided free of cost. On the inaugural day alone, about 40 USGs were performed. By afternoon, nearly 350 patients had been screened at the camp.

Officials emphasized that the Abhiyaan seeks to ensure accessible healthcare for women and strengthen families through preventive care and wellness services. The overwhelming public response reflected strong community support for the vision of “Healthy Women, Empowered Families.” (JKNS)
