Baramulla, Sep 19 (JKNS): Bhartiya Janta Party leader Ravinder Raina on Friday said that both Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the Chief Minister are equally committed to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and are working in coordination to resolve their difficulties.

Speaking to reporters at Sopore Fruit Mandi, Raina as per news agency JKNS said, “There is one government in Jammu and Kashmir. In that government, LG Sahib and the Chief Minister are like two brothers one younger and one elder. Both want the issues of people to be addressed. When two brothers work together, the work is stronger and more effective.”

The BJP leader, accompanied by State Secretary Dr. Farida Khan, M. M. War, and party workers, interacted with fruit growers including President Fayaz Ahmad Malik and Mushtaq Ahmad Tantry.

He said the growers are facing hardships due to floods, landslides, and highway blockades which disrupted the transport of apples to outside markets.

“I came here to Asia’s largest fruit mandi in Sopore and met Kaka Ji Malik Sahib and other growers. They are passing through tough times, but efforts are underway at all levels to ease their suffering,” Raina said.

He added that he had already discussed the matter with LG Manoj Sinha, while the Chief Minister and many religious and social organisations are also extending support.

“The National Highway has now been restored with the efforts of the concerned authorities. I am hopeful that the problems of growers will soon be resolved,” he stated.

Raina also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, “under whose supervision the damaged highway was repaired, ensuring movement of fruit-laden trucks.”

He assured that the packed apples at Sopore Mandi will be transported safely to markets across the country and reiterated that every possible step will be taken to safeguard the interests of growers. (JKNS
