Budgam, Sep 20 (JKNS): Anjuman Interfaith Dialogue Chapter’s Secretary Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi attended 2 days Conference on Combating Hate crimes and Hate Speech which is organised by prestigious People’s Union for civil liberties in New Delhi .
While speaking in conference Aga Muntazir said “We gather here, at this crucial Conference on Communal Harmony, not merely as representatives of different communities, but as a collective conscience.
As the Secretary of the Anjuman Interfaith Dialogue Chapter in Jammu & Kashmir, I have seen firsthand the delicate, beautiful tapestry of human relationships and have also witnessed how easily its threads can be frayed by hatred. Our presence in this Jawahar Bhawan Auditorium is a testament to our shared commitment to mend that fabric.
“Yet, we are confronted with a rising tide of hate that threatens to drown this legacy. We see a disturbing surge in hate speech, both online and offline, which deliberately targets minorities and seeks to poison the wells of trust between communities.
This is not mere rhetoric; it is a corrosive acid that eats away at our social cohesion. Hate speech dehumanizes its victims, creating a fertile ground where prejudice flourishes and violence becomes tragically normalized”. Aga said.
Aga Muntazir urged People of India to initiate dialogue with the people of Jammu and Kashmir who are the primary casualty of hate speech , dehumanisation and play a role in the restoration of dignity and political rights. (JKNS)
