Budgam, Sep 25 (JKNS): Budgam Police have acted promptly in a disturbing case of sexual assault on minors in Beerwah, arresting the accused within hours and initiating a detailed investigation to ensure justice.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS, Budgam Police has taken prompt action in a heinous case of sexual assault on children, ensuring that the habitual offender is brought to justice, it reads.

It was reported that three minor children (names withheld) were subjected to repeated sexual assault by a criminal. Acting without delay, Police Station Beerwah registered FIR No. 134/2025 under sections 65(2) & 352(2) of BNS read with sections 5/6 of the POCSO Act, it reads.

Statemwntbreads that, “The accused was arrested within hours of the report. The crime scene was immediately preserved and examined by the FSL team, which also secured crucial forensic evidence. Medical examinations of the victims were conducted promptly to strengthen the case. Investigation is being carried out on top priority from every relevant angle to ensure foolproof prosecution.”

Police urges citizens to remain vigilant and to promptly report any such incidents so that offenders are exposed, isolated and punished without delay, it reads.

Safeguarding children from abuse and exploitation remains the foremost and uncompromising priority of Budgam Police, statement reads. (JKNS)
