Women-Led Development Must Be Our Prime Objective: LG Sinha at Sewa Parv

Jammu, Sep 28 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday participated in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi’s Sewa Parv at Katra and called for greater community participation to advance inclusive growth and women-led development across Jammu and Kashmir.

As per news agency JKNS, Sinha participated in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi’s Sewa Parv held at Katra today.

LG Sinha addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of festival of service, creativity, and cultural pride, which is guided by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

He said the Sewa Parv aims to bring together communities, institutions, and individuals in a collective movement of service for nation building.

“With collective commitment to service to ensure meaningful impact on communities, the Sewa Parv is improving public health and promoting ecological sustainability,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor, in his address, highlighted the importance of community participation for inclusive growth and women empowerment-focused initiatives to ensure women-led development. He said the active participation of women in decision-making at all levels of society and in the economy should be our prime objective.

He further appreciated the Shrine Board’s endeavours towards solid waste management, water conservation and promoting public health.

The Lieutenant Governor participated in a cleanliness drive at Darshani Deodi, as a part of the Sewa Parv event organised by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and District Administration Reasi. He visited the Medical camp and stalls put up by different departments, and planted a Rudraksha sapling at Spiritual Growth Centre Katra. Sanction letters were also handed over to beneficiaries under various schemes.

Shri Saraf Singh Nag, Chairman, District Development Council Reasi; Shri Baldev Raj Sharma, MLA Shri Mata Vaishno Devi; Shri Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University; Ms Sarah Rizvi DIG Udhampur -Reasi Range; Shri Sachin Kumar Vaishya, CEO Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; Ms Nidhi Malik, Deputy Commissioner Reasi; senior officials, civil society members, Swachhagrahis and representatives of various social organisations attended the Sewa Parv celebrations. (JKNS)
