Rafiabad, Oct 4 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir’s prominent JDF leader, Nazir Ahmad Mir, has expressed deep anguish and concern over the recent devastating hailstorm that ravaged the Wanpora Rafiabad and its adjoining villages, inflicting severe damage to orchards and agricultural fields.
The hailstorm has further exacerbated the suffering of the local community, already reeling from the recent floods and highway closure.
In a heartfelt appeal to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Mir urged the authorities to immediately dispatch teams to assess the extent of the damage and provide adequate compensation and timely relief to the affected farmers and families. He emphasized that the people of Rafiabad require urgent attention and government support to recover from this calamity and rebuild their livelihoods.
Mr. Mir stated, “This hailstorm has dealt a huge blow to our community, which is entirely dependent on agriculture for its livelihood. I urge the government to take immediate action to mitigate the suffering of our people and provide them with the necessary support to get back on their feet.” (JKNS)
