Srinagar, Oct 06 (JKNS): The Election Commission of India on Monday announced the dates for by-elections to the Budgam and Nagrota Assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, during a press briefing as per news agency JKNS said that polling for the two seats will take place on November 11, while the counting of votes is scheduled for November 14.
The schedule was announced alongside the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 and by-polls to several other constituencies across different states.
The Budgam Assembly seat fell vacant after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah resigned from it, opting to retain the Ganderbal constituency from which he was also elected in the previous Assembly elections.
The Nagrota seat became vacant following the demise of BJP leader and MLA Devender Singh Rana on October 31 last year, shortly after the Assembly election results were declared. (JKNS
