Budgam, Oct 8 (JKNS): Budgam Police on Wednesday carried out targeted searches at multiple residences linked to members of the banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), officials said. The raids were conducted in Soibugh and Chadoora areas as part of ongoing efforts to prevent activities that could threaten public order and safety.
In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS, Budgam Police conducted coordinated searches on October 8, 2025, at multiple locations associated with members of the proscribed organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) within the jurisdiction of Police District Budgam, statement reads.
The raids were carried out in the Soibugh and Chadoora areas at the residences of individuals linked with the banned outfit. The searches were conducted as part of ongoing investigations aimed at ascertaining their possible involvement in activities having potential to disturb public order and tranquility, it reads.
The operation reflects Budgam Police’s proactive approach in dismantling networks connected to the terror ecosystem and in thwarting any attempts to disturb peace and normalcy in the district, it reads.
