Srinagar, Oct 12 (JKNS): The second edition of the Kashmir Literature Festival was successfully held on 11th and 12th October 2025 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar.
The festival celebrated the spirit of art, culture, and literature of Kashmir, bringing together authors, intellectuals, policy makers, social workers, and young voices from across the region.
The festival was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, on 11th October 2025. In his inaugural address, the Hon’ble LG emphasized the importance of literature and culture in shaping the collective conscience of society and lauded the efforts of the organizers in providing a platform for dialogue, creativity, and youth engagement.
Over the two days, the festival hosted a series of thought-provoking sessions and panel discussions featuring eminent personalities including Lt. Gen. D.P. Pandey (Retd.), former Corps Commander Chinar Corps; Shri Vijay Dhar; Adv. Jehanzeb Allaqaband, social activist and youth leader; Prof. Khurshid Andrabi, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir; Dr. Monica Gupta, Director NIFT Srinagar; and renowned artist and social worker Ms. Rouble Nagi, among others.
The sessions covered diverse themes related to literature, education, leadership, youth empowerment, cultural heritage, and social change. The festival also showcased cultural performances, poetry recitations, and artistic displays that highlighted the rich traditions and evolving cultural narrative of Kashmir.
A special highlight of the event was the active participation of young students from various schools, who engaged enthusiastically in discussions, creative workshops, and literary competitions, reflecting the growing interest of youth in literature and arts.
The Kashmir Literature Festival continues to serve as a vital platform for fostering dialogue, celebrating creativity, and strengthening cultural connections within the region and beyond. (JKNS)
