Capacity Building Programmes are professional development initiatives designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and teaching competencies of educators. They aim to strengthen teachers’ abilities to meet the evolving demands of the education system and improve overall classroom effectiveness.
Such initiatives are crucial for ensuring that teachers remain well-equipped to implement policy reforms like NEP 2020. They also promote peer learning, innovation, and collaboration among educators, helping schools maintain consistent academic quality and innovation.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, introduced by the Government of India, envisions a transformative shift in the education system. It emphasizes holistic, multidisciplinary, and experiential learning instead of rote memorization, aiming to develop creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in students.
The policy also prioritizes teacher training, inclusion, and flexibility in education to cater to diverse learning needs. Programmes like the one conducted at DPS Budgam serve as a bridge between policy and practice, helping educators bring NEP 2020’s vision to life in classrooms across the country. (JKNS)
