Karna, Oct 16: A two-day Pahari literary and cultural program concluded successfully at the Kandi Cultural Club, bringing together renowned artists, poets, and writers from the region.
The event featured mesmerizing performances and poetic recitations that captivated the audience, making the evening memorable and vibrant.
Throughout the program, local poets presented their captivating verses, earning rounds of applause from the audience. The event concluded with an engaging stage drama performed by the talented members of the Karnah Cultural Club, which received an overwhelming response from the spectators.
During the closing ceremony, Mohammad Ayoub Naeem Karnahi, Head of the Pahari Department and Cultural Officer at the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, along with Editor Wahid Minhas, expressed gratitude to all the esteemed guests.
They assured that the Academy will continue organizing such programs to provide a platform for local talent to flourish.
Prominent personalities who attended the event included Abdul Rashid Qureshi (renowned actor and drama artist), Abdul Rashid Lone Ghamgeen (noted fiction writer and teacher), Rana Shah Mohammad (Zonal Education Officer, Tangdhar), Ghulam Hassan, Javed Qureshi, Mohammad Saleem, Peerzada Siraj-ud-Din (President, Civil Society Karnah), and well-known poet Iftikhar Qureshi, among other distinguished citizens of the area.
In his address, Mohammad Ayoub Naeem emphasized that “Karnah is rich in talent, it only needs encouragement and proper guidance.” He further urged that young artists should be given training opportunities and that collective efforts must be made to promote and preserve the Pahari language.
On the final day, the artists of Karnah Cultural Club performed a stage play at the Cultural Hall, which received immense appreciation from the audience. The program was skillfully hosted by Wahid Minhas.
