Baramulla, Oct 19 (JKNS): The Indian Army on Sunday celebrated Diwali with residents of the remote village of Gohallan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district, reflecting the enduring bond between soldiers and local communities in border areas.
The celebration featured lighting of diyas and distribution of sweets, filling the village with warmth and festive cheer despite its isolation. The occasion brought joy to villagers while also offering soldiers, stationed far from their families, a sense of belonging and togetherness during the festival of lights.
The event stood as a poignant symbol of unity and shared cultural heritage. For the villagers of Gohallan, the Army’s presence during the festival brought reassurance and companionship, while for soldiers it was a heartfelt connection with the people they protect.
