Srinagar, Oct 23 (JKNS): The beautiful city of Srinagar is all set to welcome the 5th edition of the Kashmir World Film Festival (KWFF) from November 1 to 7, 2025.

This week-long festival will celebrate cinema, culture, and creativity, bringing together artists, filmmakers, and audiences from across India and abroad.

According to festival director Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, about ten well-known Bollywood personalities will attend the event. The list includes Raza Murad, Bhagyashree, Mukesh Rishi, Rahul Rawail, Madhur Bhandarkar, Anil Sharma, Rajit Kapur, Rahul Mittra, Yashpal Sharma, Lalit Parimoo, and Mir Sarwar. “We are thrilled to host such prominent names this year. Their presence will make the festival more inspiring and memorable,” Khan said.

The festival will also feature several popular Kashmiri artists such as Tariq Javaid, Aiyash Aarif, Ashraf Shawl, G.M. Wani, Shahid Lateef, Shahzad Rasool, Waheed Jeelani, and Gulzar Ganai.

A total of 75 films will be screened during the festival, covering both competition and non-competition categories. The highlights include national and international film screenings, interactive sessions, panel discussions, and workshops. There will also be networking opportunities for filmmakers, students, and professionals to share ideas and collaborate.

A special attraction this year will be a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the classic Bollywood film Sholay. A dedicated session will bring together experts and film lovers to celebrate the legendary movie. Several other classic Hindi films will also be screened during the week.

The Kashmir World Film Festival, launched in 2017, had successfully hosted four editions until 2018. After a long gap of seven years, it is now returning to the valley with new energy and enthusiasm.

The festival invites everyone to be part of this cinematic movement and celebrate the power of storytelling in the heart of Kashmir. (JKNS)
