Prof. Naseem Shafai Awarded Khilaat Hajni 2025
Hajan, Oct 26 (JKNS): Today at the Town Hall Hajan, Adab Sonawari Circle paid a grand tribute to their predecessors in a special ceremony dedicated to the respected poet and fiction writer, the late Ghulam Hasan Tasin. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool, followed by prayers offered by Yasin Qadri for the deceased.
The first session of the ceremony was presided over by Kashmir University Dean of Arts, Sheikh Mohammad Ijaz. The Patron of Kamraz Literary Center, Dr. Rafiq Mehman Zee Waqar, along with Fayaz Talgami and Alhaj Ghulam Nabi Dar, were also present. Alhaj Ghulam Nabi Dar delivered the welcome speech. During this session, Majeed Majaj presented the annual report of the constituency, and Dr. Riyaz Al Hasan delivered an argumentative paper on the topic of “Sani Aslaaf.”
In his speech, Chairperson Professor Sheikh Mohammad Ijaz highlighted the importance of preserving the Kashmiri language and paid tribute to Hajan for its historical significance. Prof. Naseem Shafai was honored with the Khilaat Hajni 2025 for his valuable contributions to literature.
The second session was presided over by Professor Shad Ramzan, with the presence of the President of Kamraz Literary Center Mohammad Amin Butt, Dr. G.N. Haleem, and Professor Ismail Ashna. The session began with a keynote address by Shakir Shafi, followed by Abdul Khaliq Shams, who presented an engaging paper on the literary services of Ghulam Hasan Tasin. Syed Abid Gohar shared his impressions of Golestan and Tasakin Sahib, while Irshadul Hamid was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation.
In his presidential address, Professor Shad Ramzan emphasized the importance and significance of the literary circle. Shamim Rasheed, Salim Yusuf, Mehtab Manzoor, and Ghulam Nabi Manzoor also paid their tributes. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Nazir Javed delivered the closing speech, and Miraj bin Saif efficiently managed the organization of the event.
The event was financially supported by Amazing Collection Hajan and organized under the patronage of Kamraz Literary Center. Writers, civil society members, teachers, and students from across the valley participated, making it a memorable celebration of Kashmiri literary heritage. (JKNS)
