Srinagar, Oct 27 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday confirmed plans to construct a footbridge in front of SKIMS Soura to decongest traffic and facilitate hassle-free movement of patients.
Responding to Starred Question raised by MLA Tanvir Sadiq regarding frequent traffic jams at Main Chowk outside SKIMS Soura, as per news agency JKNS, the government in a written reply emphasized, that heavy inflow of vehicles from multiple directions, including Buchpora, Soura, 90-feet Road, and Nowshera, was causing significant inconvenience to patients and the general public.
The Public Works (R&B) Department, through the Deputy Director of Planning, stated that an underground subway or footbridge will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹219.98 lakh, with Rs. 12.50 lakh already released to the Chief Engineer, Central Kashmir.
The project is expected to be completed by the next financial year. (JKNS)
