Srinagar, Oct 27 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that the prolonged delay in the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood has led to growing disappointment among the people.
Addressing press conference, Omar as per news agency JKNS said, “From day one, I have been hopeful about statehood restoration, but as the delay stretches on, our hopes fade with every passing day.”
Reacting to recent statements attributed to Member of Parliament Mian Altaf, the Chief Minister clarified, “I spoke to Mian Sahab yesterday. He told me he never said what’s being reported in the media. He only advised me to speak with patience and caution regarding the Chief Minister’s position.”
When asked about MP Aga Ruhullah’s comments, Omar said, “I won’t comment on him, but there’s a zameen-aasman (heaven and earth) difference between Aga Ruhullah and Mian Altaf.”
He added that Mian Altaf’s advice was fatherly and rooted in goodwill. (JKNS)
