Shopian District Marks National Unity Day with Grand Padyatra

Shopian, Oct 31 (JKNS): As part of the celebrations marking the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, iconic national leader, also celebrated as National Unity Day. The District Administration Shopian along with Mera Yuva Bharat on Friday organised a Padyatra at Shopian.

The Padyatra,which commenced from Old Fruit Mandi, Arhama Shopian,culminated at the Mini Secretariat Shopian was flagged off by Deputy Commisioner,Shopian, Shishir Gupta in presence of Senior Superintendent of Police, Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary,ADDC,Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone,ADC,Dr.Zakir Hussain Faaz and other officers and citizens.

Thousands of participants,including among its ranks, students from various schools, officers, employees, and members of civil society,youth, volunteers of Mera Yuva Bharat,NRLM members and other locals participated enthusiastically in the event, holding the Tricolour and raising slogans promoting the message of unity, integrity, and national pride.

The participants carried placards with inspiring messages reflecting the spirit of togetherness envisioned by the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. (JKNS)
