Higher Reaches of J&K to Witness Light Rain, Snow on 4-5 November: Director MET

Srinagar, Nov 1 (JKNS): The Meteorological Department Srinagar predicted generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir from November 1 to 3, with cloudy skies and chances of light rain or snow in higher reaches from the evening of November 4 to the morning/forenoon of November 5. From November 6 to 13, dry weather is expected to prevail across the UT.

Director MET Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, as per news agency JKNS, said, “from 1st to 3rd November, generally dry weather is expected. On 4th-5th November, skies will be generally cloudy with the possibility of a spell of light rain or light snow (higher reaches) over scattered places of Kashmir Division and Jammu Division during the 4th evening/night to 5th morning/forenoon. From 6th to 13th November, generally dry weather will prevail.”

Advisory issued by MET stated that, “Thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds may occur at a few places towards the evening of 4th November.”

Advisory reads that, “Significant fall in day and night temperatures is expected from 5th November onwards at many places. Farmers are advised to suspend farm operations during 4th-5th November.” (JKNS)
