Srinagar, 01 Nov (KNC): Major General Tushar Sharma assumed charge of the Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo) in North Kashmir as the 21st General Officer Commanding, succeeding Major General Vivek Narang.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Major General Sharma has held various staff and command appointments across diverse terrains and formations and brings extensive experience in counter-terrorism operations.
On assuming command, Major General Sharma paid homage to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and exhorted all ranks to reaffirm their resolve to uphold the legacy of the formation through steadfast commitment and devotion to duty.
He further emphasized the critical importance of combat readiness to effectively thwart all hostile and nefarious designs of inimical forces in North Kashmir. (KNC)
