Kupwara, Nov 3 (JKNS): The Kupwara district administration has taken significant steps to ensure the smooth functioning of the subsidized helicopter service to the remote and snow-bound areas of Karnah, Keran, and Machil during the winter months.

To make the service more efficient and accessible to the public, the administration has appointed Nodal Officers for each region to monitor and coordinate helicopter operations effectively.

According to an official order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara, the following officers have been designated as Nodal Officers for their respective areas:

Arshad Qadir Butt (JKAS), Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Kupwara — Nodal Officer for District Police Lines Kupwara (Contact: 9906518530)

Mohammad Amin Bhat, Tehsildar Karnah — Nodal Officer for Karnah (Contact: 7006248450)

Idrees Sadiq Sofi, Tehsildar Keran — Nodal Officer for Keran (Contact: 9906532260)

Saqib Saleem, Tehsildar Machil — Nodal Officer for Machil (Contact: 7006878772)

As per the order, the ACP Office Kupwara, SDM Office Karnah, and the Tehsil Offices of Keran and Machil have been designated as ticketing counters for their respective areas to facilitate easy access to helicopter tickets for the public.

The Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Office Kupwara has been directed to formally hand over its previous records related to the service to the ACP Office Kupwara, with a copy to be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.

The Nodal Officers have been instructed to maintain daily records of helicopter operations, ensure smooth coordination among departments, and submit regular reports to the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

According to the administration, this move aims to streamline the helicopter service system and provide better connectivity to residents of the snow-bound and inaccessible regions of Kupwara district during the harsh winter season. (JKNS)
