Karnah, Nov 5 (JKNS): The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great fervour and devotion at the historic Guru Teg Bahadur Gurudwara located at the Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal, North Kashmir.
The last Gurudwara on the Indian side of the LoC was beautifully illuminated to mark the sacred occasion.
Ravinder Pandita, head of the committee managing both the Sharda Temple and the Gurudwara at LoC Teetwal, extended warm greetings to devotees on this joyous day. He recalled that the Gurudwara, which had been destroyed during the tribal raids in 1947, was reconstructed in 2022 after 75 years. Kamal Devrani, the temple priest, performed puja rituals and lit traditional oil lamps to mark the event.
Meanwhile, the Sikh community of Tarboni, Karnah, also celebrated Gurpurab with great enthusiasm and religious fervour. Devotees participated in prayers, kirtan, and langar, spreading the message of peace, unity, and brotherhood taught by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The twin celebrations at Teetwal and Tarboni reflected communal harmony and the spirit of devotion that continues to thrive in the border region of Karnah. (JKNS)
