Budgam, Nov 6 (JKNS): Under the supervision of SSP Budgam Shri Nikhil Borkar (IPS), Cyber Police Station Budgam alongwith District Technical Team (DDT) organized a Cyber Awareness Programme at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Khanpora as part of the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM).
During the programme, SI Suvaid Wani and other experts from Budgam Police educated students and faculty about emerging cyber threats, including online financial frauds, phishing, SIM-swap scams, and misuse of mule accounts. Participants were advised to adopt safe online practices, avoid sharing personal or banking information, and remain vigilant while using social media and conducting digital transactions.
Students and teachers actively participated in the interactive session, seeking guidance on various cyber safety measures. They were also encouraged to act as Cyber Ambassadors in their communities and were informed about reporting mechanisms through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) and helpline 1930.
