Nagrota, Nov 14 (JKNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Devyani Rana has secured a decisive victory in the Nagrota Assembly by-election, as per the final results declared by the Election Commission of India on Thursday.
As per news agency JKNS that Rana amassed 42,183 votes, leaving her nearest rival Harsh Dev Singh of the Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party far behind with 17,661 votes when counting concluded.
National Conference’s Shamim Begum finished third with 10,834 votes, while independent candidate Anil Sharma polled 837 votes, officials added.
With a commanding victory margin of 24,522 votes, Rana’s win marks a major boost for the BJP in the Nagrota constituency, where counting wrapped up after all 11 rounds were completed. (JKNS
