Indore, Nov 15 (JKNS): The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta today urged the youth of India to become the driving force behind the nation’s journey towards a Self-Reliant, Modern and Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Addressing students at the Convocation Ceremony of SAGE University here today, the Lt Governor said that young minds must “adopt new ideas, innovate with confidence and lead India’s transformative progress with responsibility and determination.”

LG Kavinder emphasised that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047 places youth at the centre of national development.

He said the next two decades will define India’s global standing, and it is the responsibility of the young generation to convert their learning into meaningful service to society.

He reminded students that a convocation is not the end of education but the beginning of applying knowledge with purpose, values and responsibility.

Underscoring the importance of innovation, skill development and futuristic learning, the Lt Governor noted that the youth must evolve into creators, thinkers and leaders capable of building India’s technological and economic strength.

He urged students to embrace new ideas, cultivate modern skills, and make their efforts nation-centric.

“The success of Viksit Bharat depends on how effectively our youth transform knowledge into innovation and innovation into impact,” he said.

Highlighting Ladakh’s rapid transformation, LG Kavinder said the Himalayan Union Territory is steadily advancing as a national hub in education, climate studies, renewable energy, mountain ecology and cutting-edge research.

He noted that Ladakh has achieved significant progress in modernising school infrastructure, integrating technology into classrooms, and expanding access to quality higher education.

He reaffirmed Ladakh’s commitment to building an ecosystem where youth become not only job seekers but job creators leading entrepreneurship, research and sustainable development in the region.

In his concluding remarks, the Lt Governor praised SAGE University for its achievements in quality education, modern learning facilities and strong industry connections.

He said the University’s rapid growth, academic excellence and commitment to innovation reflect the spirit of a confident, self-reliant and future-ready India.

Earlier, the Lt Governor awarded degrees at the Fifth Convocation Ceremony of SAGE University, Indore, where 5 D.Litt., 35 Ph.D., and a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees were conferred upon students from diverse disciplines including Management, Journalism, Science & Technology, Arts, Commerce, Agriculture, Design, Pharmaceuticals, Advanced Computing and Law.
