Jammu, Nov 16 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday stated that Jammu and Kashmir Police have uncovered and dismantled a terror module with links to the Red Fort blast case, thereby preventing coordinated attacks planned across the country.
Addressing a gathering, Sinha as per news agency JKNS said the module was exposed following actionable intelligence and swift follow-up operations by the police force.
Commenting on the devastating Nowgam Police Station explosion, the LG made it clear that the blast was accidental and occurred during examination of explosive material earlier recovered from the detained operatives. He said a forensic team was inspecting the seized substances when the explosion occurred, claiming nine lives—among them six police personnel—and injuring many others.
Sinha stressed that there was no external involvement and no terror connection with the blast itself.
He said an inquiry committee is already examining the sequence of events and assured that the administration stands firmly with the affected families and injured victims.
He commended the police for preventing a much larger tragedy by cracking the pan-India module. (JKNS)
