Jammu, Nov 22 (JKNS): Exhibiting remarkable skill, composure, and competitive spirit, players from across the country guided their teams into the pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing 69th National School Games 2025 (U-19 Boys and Girls Table Tennis Championship) being hosted by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir, at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu.
The championship has attracted participation from 34 States, Union Territories, and sports organisations from different parts of the country.
The prestigious event is being held under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) and under the leadership of Director General, Youth Services and Sports J&K, Ms. Anuradha Gupta, while Vinakshi Koul, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
In the boys’ category, the teams securing berths in the pre-quarterfinals include Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Vidya Bharati, KVS, Chandigarh, Telangana, Puducherry, CISCE, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
Similarly, in the girls’ section, the sixteen teams advancing to the pre-quarterfinals comprise Delhi, CBSE, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Telangana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Assam, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, NVS, Chandigarh, and West Bengal.
The thrilling encounters witnessed so far have been marked by exceptional rallies, precision play, and true sportsmanship, setting the stage for even more intense contests in the upcoming rounds.
Prominent among others the matches were witnessed today by former International Table Tennis Player and Junior National Selector; Maninder Singh, State Champion in Table Tennis; Col Naveen Sharma and Ravish Vaid, Table Tennis Coach, Jammu University and Technical Officer of the event. (JKNS)
