Srinagar, Nov 23 (JKNS): The Society of Consultant Doctors (SCD) Jammu & Kashmir has strongly denounced the November 10 bomb blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and extending solidarity to the bereaved families.
In a statement issued to news agency JKNS, the SCD said it was “deeply anguished” by the incident and emphasised that the alleged involvement of individuals linked to the medical profession was “disturbing” and amounted to a “grave betrayal of the values and ethics of healing” if proven true.
The Society affirmed full faith in the justice system and urged authorities to take strict legal action against anyone found guilty.
Reiterating its commitment to peace, humanity and national unity, the SCD appealed to the public to remain calm, vigilant and united against all forms of violence and extremism. “Such acts of violence cannot shake our resolve to heal, protect and serve society and the nation at large,” it said.
The organisation noted that the medical fraternity has always upheld the principles of compassion and service above everything else and vowed to continue doing so. (JKNS)
