Peshawar, Nov 24 (JKNS): At least three security personnel were killed and two others injured in a suicide attack on the headquarters of a paramilitary force in Pakistan’s Peshawar on Monday, officials said.
Media reports as per news agency JKNS, three terrorists were also killed during the exchange of fire following the attack at the Frontier Constabulary (FC) headquarters. The incident occurred when a suicide bomber detonated himself at the main gate, after which the remaining attackers attempted to storm the building but were neutralised by security forces.
Security personnel immediately cordoned off the area, and a clearance operation is currently underway to rule out any further threats, officials added.
The injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar for treatment. The FC headquarters, located in a densely populated area close to a military cantonment, had recently undergone a renaming by the government in July. (JKNS)
