Srinagar, Nov 25 (JKNS): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday questioned National Conference MP Aga Ruhullah Mehdi’s mode of protest, saying the parliamentarian should raise issues inside Parliament instead of seeking public limelight on streets.
Speaking to reporters, the Deputy CM said as per news agency JKNS that the Chief Minister has already clarified that the government has no proposal for an electricity tariff hike. “Aga Sahab is free to express his concerns. No one has stopped him. But being a Member of Parliament, his foremost platform is Parliament,” he remarked.
Choudhary added that an MP carries due protocol and access. “He can speak directly to the Chief Minister or even the Prime Minister. It does not suit an elected parliamentarian to create spectacle on the roads merely for attention,” he said.
He urged the media to refrain from amplifying such attempts at gaining visibility, stating that unnecessary hype encourages such behaviour. (JKNS)
