Srinagar, Nov 26 (KNS): The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, in partnership with the Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority, marked Constitution Day 2025 on Wednesday, renewing its commitment to the constitutional principles of equality, justice, and secularism.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh as per news agency JKNS, emphasized the enduring relevance of secularism as envisioned by the framers of the Constitution.
“The Preamble reflects the soul of our Constitution. Today gives us a moment to revisit it and strengthen our dedication to the ideals it represents,” Justice Kumar said.
“India is a secular democratic republic, and the idea of secularism must be interpreted through the Constitution itself not through the distorted versions we often see in public discourse.”
Urging citizens to uphold unity and mutual respect, he added, “We must respect one another, support each other, and honour every religion with sincerity.”
The event also featured a collective reading of the Preamble, led by Justice Kumar and attended by fellow judges of the High Court. (JKNS)
