Kupwara, Nov 29 (JKNS): A Mandatory Biometric Update Camp was successfully conducted today at Farwad Jabdi in Tehsil Karnah, District Kupwara, to facilitate Aadhaar-related services for local residents living in the border region.

The special camp was organised by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in close collaboration with the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, School Education Department, J&K. The Border Government Upper Middle School, Bijildar served as the designated venue for the outreach programme.

The initiative aimed to ensure that students, parents, and the general public received hassle-free access to Aadhaar biometric updates, including:

* Mandatory biometric updates for children at age 5 and 15
* Correction of demographic details
* Fresh Aadhaar enrolment for left-out individuals
* Assistance for residents facing biometric authentication issues

Officials from UIDAI and the School Education Department supervised the camp, ensuring smooth processing and timely facilitation for all attendees. Teachers from GMS Bijildar and local volunteers also assisted in managing queues and guiding residents.

Residents of border villages appreciated the administration for bringing essential Aadhaar services to their doorstep, reducing the need for travelling long distances to enrollment centres.

The School Education Department informed that similar outreach camps will continue in other remote pockets of Karnah to guarantee 100% Aadhaar compliance and ease of access for all citizens. (JKNS)
