Srinagar, Nov 30 (JKNS): In a significant development, noted socio-political activist and Congress leader Er Danish Reshi has been appointed as Advisor to the Grand Mufti of Jammu & Kashmir, Jinab Nasir-ul-Islam, and designated as the Head of Socio-Political Affairs of the Muslim Personal Law Board J&K.

The announcement was formally made by Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, who expressed confidence in Reshi’s capacity to bring clarity, integrity, and people-centric insight to crucial socio-political matters affecting the Muslim community.

Er Danish Reshi, known for his vocal advocacy on issues of public welfare, governance, youth empowerment, and community rights, is widely respected across political and social circles. His appointment is being viewed as an important step towards strengthening engagement on matters concerning the Muslim Ummah, particularly at a time when socio-political issues require informed representation and a grounded understanding of community needs.

Speaking on the development, stakeholders highlighted the growing requirement for structured socio-political guidance within the Board, citing the need to address emerging challenges, policy concerns, and the evolving dynamics of community affairs.

With this appointment, Reshi is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping discourse around community rights, social justice, and welfare-oriented policy interventions, while also acting as a bridge between the Board and the broader public.

Observers believe that this move reinforces the Board’s commitment to addressing contemporary issues with a balanced and progressive approach. (JKNS)
