Orientation-cum-Counselling Programme Held for Parents of Specially-Abled Students at Qazigund

Qazigund, Dec 2 (JKNS): Zonal Education Office Qazigund organised an Orientation-cum-Counselling Programme for Parents of Children With Special Needs (CwSN) at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Qazigund.

As per news agency JKNS, Parents of specially-abled students, school heads, teachers from various institutions and resource persons participated in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Anantnag, Ali Mohammad, said that the prime focus of such programmes is to explore effective ways of encouraging CwSN students and supporting them in continuing their education with confidence and dignity. He stressed the importance of extending academic guidance, emotional support and various departmental facilities to help these children move forward in their educational journey.

The CEO expressed satisfaction over the active participation of parents, saying, “I was impressed with the enthusiasm shown by the parents today. Their involvement is crucial for the progress of their children.”
He further highlighted that District Anantnag has topped the 2024-25 enrollment drive, adding that the credit goes to the teachers for their dedication and tireless efforts in reaching out to every child.

On the occasion, Zonal Education Officer Qazigund, Ghulam Rasool Magray, and the Principal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Qazigund were also present.

The programme aimed to create awareness among parents regarding the needs, rights and available support systems for Children With Special Needs. Participants appreciated the initiative and called for more such programmes to strengthen inclusive education in the region. (JKNS)
