Traffic Police Launch Major Crackdown on Violators

Baramulla, Dec 2 (JKNS): In a decisive move to curb traffic violations and enhance road safety, SSP Rural Traffic Shri Ravinderpal Singh on Tuesday led an intensive inspection drive in Sopore town.

As per news agency JKNS, He accompanied by DySP North Mujahid Nazir, SDPO Sopore Mohd Rafi, SHO Sopore Ayaz Geelani, and other senior officers.

During the drive, police teams conducted on-spot checking, issued fines, and seized several vehicles and motorcycles found violating traffic rules. The operation reflects the department’s renewed commitment to enforcing discipline on the roads and ensuring the safety of commuters.

Speaking to reporters, as pwr JKNS, SSP Ravinderpal Singh said, “We will be providing additional traffic police personnel to Sopore town soon, as the current strength is limited. I appreciate the Sopore Police for their continuous support during peak hours and their efforts to maintain road safety.”

He further stated that counselling sessions for habitual violators and bike stunt performers will continue, focusing on awareness and behavioural change. The SSP also made a strong appeal to parents, urging them not to allow minors to use two-wheelers, stressing the importance of responsible vehicle supervision. (JKNS)
