Srinagar, Dec 4 (JKNS): The Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre on Thursday witnessed a stirring display of discipline and valour as the sixth batch of 710 Agniveers was formally attested at a grand Passing Out Parade held in Srinagar.
As per news agency JKNS, Set against the winter-clad backdrop of the Zabarwan Range, the ceremony carried an air of solemn pride as recruits from across Jammu & Kashmir marched into the ranks of the Indian Army.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah presided over the parade and reviewed the impeccably coordinated formations. Addressing the Agniveers, he said their service symbolised “commitment not just to the uniform, but to the very idea of India,” praising their resolve, discipline, and the high training standards of JAKLI instructors.
Senior officers from the Army, Air Force, Police and Civil Administration were in attendance, while families filled the stands, watching their sons transition from trainees to soldiers. The parents of the Agniveers were also honoured with the ‘Gaurav Padak’ in recognition of their sacrifice.
This batch, officials noted, trained under heightened operational alert following recent terrorist incidents. Having joined just a week before Operation Sindoor, the Agniveers underwent intense drills that strengthened their readiness and resilience.
As the parade concluded with a resounding final salute and the Tricolour rising high, the moment marked not only the attestation of new soldiers but also a reaffirmation of the unwavering spirit of Jammu & Kashmir’s youth stepping forward with courage, unity and national pride. (JKNS)
