Students, staff honour Haji Nisar for community work in Botingoo
Sopore, Dec 04 (JKNS): Haji Nisar Ahmad Ganaie, Headmaster GMS Botingoo Sopore, and Master Mohammad Ashraf were honoured at a farewell function held at GMS Botingoo. Both officials are scheduled to retire in February 2026.
The staff held the ceremony a day before winter vacation, which marked their last working day in school.
Chief Education Officer Baramulla Altaf Hussain Tara attended the event. Former CEO Baramulla G M Lone, Principal Higher Secondary Botingoo Athar Hussain, ZEPO Mir Shafqat, former master and Teachers Forum trade leader Mohammad Ashraf, former lecturer Higher Secondary Botingoo Mohammad Yousuf and other dignitaries were also present.
Speakers praised the role of Haji Nisar in education, health and community welfare. They said he worked for NTPHC Botingoo, pushed for local road development and supported Higher Secondary Botingoo in key projects. They said his efforts brought important schemes and services to the area.
Anchor Mudasir Ahmad Wani conducted the function. Staff members Irshad Ahmad Khan, Bashir Ahmad Teli and Mansoor Ahmad Nazki shared memories of their association with the headmaster. Students of GMS Botingoo offered short presentations and thanked him for his support.
Haji Nisar said he was thankful to the Education Department, especially former CEO G M Lone, CEO Baramulla Altaf Hussain Tara, ZEO Dangerpora Ab Salam dar,ZEPO Dangerpora Mir Shafqat and all staff members who supported him whenever he needed help.
He said he was grateful for the chance to serve his village and its children, says he would continue to support students and work for their facilities in the future. (JKNS)
