Srinagar, Dec 4 (JKNS): In an inspiring tale of perseverance and skill, NASIR AEJAZ SUFI, a student of a Government School in Jammu & Kashmir, has earned his place on the national squad for the U-15 Boys World Volleyball Championship, scheduled to be held in China.

Nasir secured his selection after competing in rigorous nationwide special trials conducted by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). His journey from local volleyball courts in J&K to the international stage stands as a testament to the talent nurtured within the public education and sports ecosystem.

The final phase of the selection took place in Pune, following which Nasir received intensive training at a national coaching camp in Ranchi, Jharkhand. His foundational volleyball skills were developed in J&K under the guidance of skilled coaches from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Azhar Raina and Naresh Kumar.

The coaches trained Nasir under the directions of Anuradha Gupta, Director General of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, who stressed providing top-tier support and coaching to promising young athletes. Nasir’s achievement reflects the success of these concerted efforts and his own determination.

The entire leadership of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, including the Director General, Deputy Director Central, Joint Directors from both divisions, and the Deputy Director Activities, extended warm congratulations to Nasir, his parents, and his coaches.

Officials expressed hope that this milestone marks the beginning of a bright future not only for Nasir but also for other aspiring sportspersons across J&K. They believe his success will inspire countless young athletes to aim for national and international platforms.

This accomplishment highlights the sporting potential of J&K’s youth and the transformative role of structured training and institutional support provided by the Department of Youth Services and Sports. (JKNS)
