Srinagar, Dec 5 (JKNS): Air traffic in Jammu and Kashmir was hit on Friday with 30 flights cancelled at Srinagar Airport and 11 at Jammu Airport, amid continued operational disruptions affecting airlines across India.
An official from Srinagar airport told news agency JKNS that Srinagar Airport had 64 scheduled movements for the day, 32 arrivals and 32 departures. However, by 1600 hours, a total of 34 movements were cancelled, including 17 arrivals and 17 departures.
He said the cancellations included 28 IndiGo movements (14 arrivals and 14 departures) and 2 movements of another airline (1 arrival and 1 departure). In addition, IndiGo reported 2 delayed movements (1 arrival and 1 departure).
The official added that only 30 movements (15 arrivals and 15 departures) could be operated at Srinagar till 4 PM.
As per JKNS, 11 flights were cancelled at Jammu Airport as well, following similar operational challenges.
Reports indicate that the disruptions are linked to IndiGo’s compliance-related adjustments under the latest DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) safety directives, along with crew availability issues, which have triggered delays and cancellations at multiple airports nationwide this week.
