Srinagar, Dec 5 (JKNS): The Meteorological Department on Friday issued a detailed weather bulletin for Jammu and Kashmir, forecasting cloudy conditions and chances of light snowfall over the higher reaches during the coming days.

Director Meteorological Department, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad as per news agency JKNS said, that the weather will largely remain stable with occasional cloud cover and brief spells of very light snowfall over isolated mountainous pockets of North and Central Kashmir.

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, said that on December 5, weather will remain generally cloudy with the possibility of very light snowfall over isolated higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir. He added that December 6 and 7 are expected to remain generally dry across Jammu and Kashmir, offering brief stability in weather conditions. On December 8, the region may again witness partly to generally cloudy skies with chances of a brief spell of light snowfall over isolated high-altitude areas of North and Central Kashmir.

Dr. Mukhtar further stated that from December 9 to 13, mostly to partly cloudy weather is expected across the UT, with no major precipitation forecast during the period. These conditions may lead to colder mornings and evenings, particularly in the Kashmir Valley where night temperatures typically remain low under dry and cloudy patterns.

Regarding the later outlook, the MeT Director said that December 14 and 15 are likely to witness partly to generally cloudy weather, followed by December 16 and 17, when similar sky conditions may prevail but with a possibility of light snowfall over isolated higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir.

The fog may affect visibility and could lead to travel-related disruptions during early morning and evening hours. (JKNS)
