Commissioner SMC Visits SMC Transport Yard JAKLI Allochi Bagh to Inspect Readiness of Snow Clearing Machines

Srinagar, Dec 6 (JKNS): The Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Mr. Faz Lul Haseeb, IAS, along with Joint Commissioner Syed Abul Qasim today visited the SMC transport yard JAKLI Allochi bagh to assess the preparedness and operational readiness of the snow clearing machinery ahead of the winter season.

During the inspection, the Commissioner reviewed the entire fleet of equipment, including snow cutters, snow ploughs, high-capacity loaders, and dewatering machines. He was briefed by the Mechanical Engineering Wing about the deployment plan, maintenance status, and response protocols to be activated during snowfall.

Commissioner emphasized that SMC has put in place state-of-the-art machinery and a robust action plan to ensure timely snow clearance and uninterrupted civic services. He instructed the field teams to maintain the equipment in optimal working condition and ensure that all operators remain on standby for quick mobilization whenever required.

The Commissioner further highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts among various wings of the Corporation to ensure efficient snow clearance, especially in critical areas such as hospitals, main markets, public transport routes, and other vital installations. (JKNS)
