Srinagar, Dec 8 (JKNS): In a first-of-its-kind initiative, a samoohik yagnopavit ceremony for eight children of the Kashmiri Pandit community was held at the Banidham Gaushala Temple in Haryana’s Gurgaon. The event, organised by the Yiakunth Mandli Ashram, witnessed an enthusiastic turnout from community members who gathered to mark this historic religious occasion.

The Banidham Gaushala team made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the ceremony.

All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) President Ravinder Pandita presented Sharda portraits and boxes to the participating children and spoke about the spiritual importance of the yagnopavit sanskaar in Kashmiri Pandit tradition. He highlighted reforms introduced during the Kashyap Bandhu era and urged the community to organise more such collective ceremonies, especially for families who may not be able to conduct them individually.

Members of KPC, RIK, and Yiakunth Ashram joined the celebration. The hawan proceedings were conducted by M. K. Talashi, while Yiakunth Ashram head Manoj Pandita expressed gratitude to all contributors and donors who supported the noble cause. (JKNS)
