Srinagar, Dec 8 (JKNS): A man lost his life on Monday after allegedly jumping into the River Jhelum from Sonwar Bridge in Srinagar.
An official told news agency JKNS, the incident occurred near the Jhula Bridge stretch of Sonwar, where the man was seen falling into the river, prompting an immediate rescue attempt by locals. He was swiftly retrieved from the water and rushed to SMHS Hospital Srinagar.
The man was brought to the hospital by an individual. However, doctors declared him brought dead upon arrival.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter, and further investigation is underway to ascertain more details. (JKNS)
