Srinagar, Dec 8: Akashvani has selected poets from all scheduled Indian languages to represent their linguistic domains in the world’s biggest poetic symposium, the National Symposium of Poets 2026.
The list of the twenty two poets from different languages along with their translators has been released by Prasar Bharati, who will be participating in the Symposium to be broadcast throughout the country with regional versions of all poems on the eve of Republic Day 2026. Yousuf Jahangeer will be representing the Kashmiri language. His poem Rooh Te Raaz (The Soul and the Secret) has been selected for the National event. Yousuf Jahangeer is a famed poet, storyteller and critic with seventeen books of literature to his credit.
A decorated writer, Jahangeer writes in Kashmiri, Urdu and English at the same time. Dr Upendra Raina will represent as translator to Yousuf Jahangeer in the Symposium. The recording of the grand poetic event being held at New Delhi this month will be broadcast at 10 pm on National Hook-Up of Akashvani throughout the country. Akashvani Srinagar will broadcast the Kashmiri version of the whole of the event on the eve of Republic Day 2026. (JKNS)
